)) Real Time Ultrasound
What is Real Time Ultrasound?
Real Time Ultrasound is used by Physiotherapists to assess pelvic floor and core stability muscles. It is an imaging technique that uses sound waves to view deep structures such as muscle, tendon and connective tissue, much like the ultrasound that is used to assess foetal development in pregnant women.
Real Time Ultrasound is a clinically effective way of assessing stability, strength, motor control and co-ordination of muscles around the spine and pelvis.
Why do I need Real Time Ultrasound?
Real Time Ultrasound benefits conditions like:
• Acute and chronic back pain
• Lumbo-pelvic instability and osteitis pubis
• Incontinence and pelvic floor muscle weakness
• Pre and postnatal complaints of incontinence, pelvic instability or low back pain
• Sports related back pain
